Rules:
- This is a low level run of zombero's hardtype mod: romhacking.net/hacks/3299
- The aim is to keep XP gain as low as possible without affecting my sanity.
- Hard mode, obviously
- No stat boosting items
- All other game mechanics are fair game!
Hardtype changes:
- Phase 1 HP: 8000 → 35000
- Phase 2 HP: 15000 → 32000 (wut?)
...in which we finally put our supply of Somas to good use. It's unfortunate for Noah that elemental protection and MP restoration items are already so essential for Lucifer in hardtype - I've been unwittingly prepping for this fight for half the game. There's honestly very little to say about it, as it's the exact same cycle as vanilla but with The Big Numbers™.
Magic Boost would've been nice for this but it's way out of reach. Nevertheless I did the best I could at getting elemental boosts for the team's strongest spells. I always start with a pass on ice turns so I can get off 2 of Shadow's Fire Boost Agidynes. Fire turns give us less damage but if we land a freeze we can land a focussed Divine Shot. You need ~650 HP to survive Domination and ~690 to survive his strongest Ma-dyne spells, which are on par with Infinite Light's damage when unresisted... wonderful. Normally I'd just give everything Anti-Magic to be safe but I wanted the extra damage from those boost passives.
So why does the 2nd phase have less HP than the 1st? Why did Bishamon 2 have less HP than Bishamon 1? I have no idea what's happening anymore let's just finish this damn game so I can get back to not playing DDS2
