Lowdown on the restrictions of this challenge:
- EXP gain is only permitted in boss fights and forced encounters, and must be minimised by only having 1 character active at the end of each battle.
- Autolevelling must also be minimised as much as possible. Argilla and Roland take all XP before they leave the party to reduce the impact of this later on, and Argilla's level must not exceed 12 so it doesn't affect Sera's starting level.
- This is a cycle 2 playthrough on hard difficulty with no data transfer bonuses.
- I will be fighting all bosses rather than doing a true minimum EXP run, cuz that's more fun. And let's face it, you're only here for Satan.
- The use of Data items to permanently raise stats is forbidden for as long as possible - at least until Shiva.
I never realised you're not supposed to dismiss Serph for this fight. Serph is forced into your party, but initially I tried replacing him with another character who wasn't at level 1. However this causes Agni to go insane and spam Power Charge and Skull Cleave/Chi Blast, making him borderline impossible with this setup.
So the correct strategy is to use Serph, even though he's only level 1. Agni will always target Serph if he's present which makes things very predictable. A +9 vit Protect Ring (3 Blue Diamonds) will ensure human Serph can take Agni's physicals once you lower his attack with Tarunda, and fire shields will protect you from Agidyne. Use Repel Fire when both Gdon are alive to stop them from using Ice Drain - you can switch to Void Fire once one of them goes down.
