I collect the secret star in Bowser's Rainbow Rumble using 4 A presses. This is an improvement over Sidney's run which collected it in 5 A presses. You can find that video here: youtu.be/0MoejGG72wM
The improvement is using a misalignment to get onto the star platform instead of jumping.
The A Presses are as follows:
#1: To jump from the slippery slope to the second square platform.
#2: To jump from the second square platform to the fourth square platform.
#3: To jump to the chuckya.
#4: To jump further up on the moon.
