This Sony DCR-TRV460 Digital8 Handycam I started out with had a working tape mechanism, but its exterior was in rough shape and the LCD screen was broken rendering it pretty much useless. Having another TRV460 whose tape compartment was broken but was otherwise in excellent cosmetic condition, I robbed its external pieces and made one good camcorder from two. Thankfully the smell of cigarette smoke has greatly subsided since I first tackled this project several weeks ago.
