Smog in Mumbai is a seasonal phenomenon. The AQI (Air Quality Index) hovers around 250-300 (very bad) from December to March because of the stagnant air. AQI improves a bit to about 150 (moderate) in the summers (March to May), and the windy monsoons bring the cleanest air quality of the year with AQI dropping to as low as 10 (very good) in the months June to October.
