After a couple months of procrastination, finding a time where we could all commentate, and of a recording getting deleted, we finally managed to get the commentary out. Pretty unstructured but hopefully people who wanna know about the SMG ABC can learn some stuff from this
Couple of things to apologize for in the video:
1. There were a couple bits were the video we were watching couldnt playback, so I had to cut around to fix that
2. My mic varies in volume a ton over the course of this, going from as audible to everyone else to can barely hear what Im saying
3. For some reason the .avi I have of the TAS has the textboxes for the A press count occasionally get really light? I have no idea what was going on there")

So originally I thought Luigi wouldnt be able to do the save at the end like Mario, but then username made a vid showing off a different way to do the ending as Luigi but it collected coins, so now heres the strat done coinless so it properly saves an A press - So ig combined with the fact that there apparently were a couple stars in SMG1 that needed P2 ruins everything interesting about the old strat smh")

Wow this run was... interesting to do. Literally my second RSG run ever completed, definitely not that good, took like 6 nights to get 12 pearls, etc. But moral of the story: Weve now got all the 1.6 AA categories finished, and weve finally got RSG on the All Achievements leaderboard!
Can guarantee 0 people will watch this all the way through though lol")

Heres certainly the most complex single ABC Star Ive done and Im pretty sure is one of the most complex out there in all of SMG ABC. Additionally, its also the longest single star with current strats. Definitely lives up to the expectations people had (unlike Boo Moon 2)
There are two main strats used here. The first is lilypad raising, where repeatedly slidekicking into the side of a lilypad slowly raises the lilypad up, usually without an upper bound. Here its used to get the purple coin that normally requires bouncing on the spring near the slope at spawn and jumping on the block above.
The second strat is flipbug manip, whereby you can shoot starbits at flipbugs as well as be behind flipbugs to move them around the level. Its really broken/powerful because 1. Unlike goombas you can easily move flipbugs vertically, and in fact if you shoot every other frame the height the flipbug gains is basically exponential, and 2. Youre able to bounce off of the flipbug without killing it, so you can repeatedly get bounces.
In this version of the video I fastforwarded through most of the boring bits, although I did leave in collecting all 100 coins
Theres been a tooon of people whove figured out strats for this, including Annoying, Moosh, usernameispassword, and probably more that I havent come across. (As well as me making my own contribution with the Mario-only strats of getting into the pipe at the bottom of the level, which wastes probably 4 minutes over just DTSK-ing into the pipe like Luigi)
Not gonna have to do any complicated stars for a while other than Loopdeloop skip so thats a relief lol")

First of three really quick/straightforward stars that I decided to TAS all in a row. If you ignored cutscenes this would almost beat just the normal RTA record because of how much you schmoove around the tree with TAS. I dont think this is a half A Press that flipbug manip would be able to solve")
