I attended Cusetown Beatdown 5 last Saturday, where I managed to get a bunch of friendlies in against San after he won the tournament, beating out Dark Wizzy in three close sets. Here's the first three matches in our set. I especially enjoyed our matches, San was my favorite player in Brawl alongside Vermanubis, and getting the chance to play him again in Smash 4 after 3 long years left me a bit giddy inside. San isn't as active as he once was, but he's still an incredible player.
There were a bunch of more matches, but I didn't come any closer to winning in them as R.O.B., though in a bit I'll upload a few matches where I tried out my Dedede and Zard on him.
Also for some news about me competitively, as I get much more serious about grinding Smash 4, I'm going to pretty much completely stop playing everyone besides my R.O.B. and either Zero Suit or another undecided secondary. So no more fooling around with Charizard, Ganon, Dedede, and other such characters. Once I reach a satisfactory point (or customs get relegalized) I may dabble in those characters again, but to hasten development, it's best for me to focus on the character I actually get my tournament wins with.
