The musical Revised Annals of Gyeongjong gives you an idea of the goings-on behind the struggle to stay in power.
The tale is set in the early 18th century, during the Joseon Dynasty, in the second year of King Gyeongjongs reign. Gyeongjong struggles to live down his mother’s scandals while warding off his half brother’s attempts to steal the throne. Meanwhile, a court recorder tries to jot it all down.
The musical has received positive reviews since its 2019 debut.
A three member cello, piano and guitar live band add their contribution to this historical musical experience.

예를 들어, 조선의 20대 임금 경종이 주인공인 뮤지컬 경종수정실록을 본다면 그를 둘러싼 왕위 쟁탈전 이야기를 알 수 있다.
뮤지컬 [경종수정실록]은 조선시대 18세기 초, 경종2년의 시점에서 시작되는 이야기로 숙종과 장희빈에 대한 트라우마를 안고 왕위를 지키고 있는 조선의 20대임금 ‘경종’과 흔들리는 왕권의 혼란을 틈타 왕위를 위협하는 이복동생 ‘연잉군’, 그리고 이 모든 일을 기록하는 사관인 ‘홍수찬’. 세 사람의 이야기를 그려낸 작품이다.
탄탄한 스토리와 첼로, 피아노, 기타로 구성된 3인조 라이브 밴드가 선보이는 독특한 음악, 인물들 간의 첨예한 대립과 갈등으로 2019년 초연 때부터 호평을 받았다.
