As far as I could trace it back, the gravity block stacking mechanic was originally discovered by jx67, and brought to most people's attention by Fizz Cannon.
Hey guys, here's a very simple and compact concrete converter that doesn't need a bazillion pistons, complicated TNT duping or a wither cage.

Note: This is broken in 1.16 due to the removal of gravity block stacking.
