Also known as neutral long jumps. Sorry if you hate my voice. I currently don't have a proper microphone, so I had to record it on my phone. I'm hoping I can do more explanations like this in the future.

If you want a quick summary of what I'm saying in the video, basically you release your forwards input at some point during your long jump for a bit and then re-hold that input so you don't lose any more speed. This no-input method causes your character's speed to decrease by only 2048 speed units every two frames instead of 6144 speed units with a long jump where you're always holding forwards.
