Initially, it was thought you had to start with a different movement than long jumping (either jump&dive roll or kick djdive), because the greater speed acquired from a long jump would accidentally manipulate the Big Boo to go too fast, making it drop in height (because of complex reasons involving Big Boo behavior). At first glance its lower height is an issue, because it would mean youd have to drop lower during the slidekick, thus not allowing you to land on the roof. However I realized you can hit the Boo lower just fine, and at the end of the slidekick still clip up the roof thanks to a floor misalignment, which is the only way that allows the edge cancel and therefore setting up for the second Boo hit in time.
