In this video I obtained the SM64: Shining Stars - Land of the King star with only 0x A presses. I know this is different from my other videos, (Star Road), but sometimes I like to mix things up a bit. :P

Hopefully this video explains how the Throw Downwarp works correctly.

Mario has three unique throwing animations based on the time the player inputs the B button:
1. The Stationairy ocurrs when the player inputs the B button too early, causing Mario to stand still while throwing the object. Is is NOT possible to downwarp using this throw.
2. The Hop-Chuck ocurrs when the player inputs the B button too late, resulting in Mario throwing the objects while bouncing. It is NOT possible to downwarp using this throw.
3. The Snap-Back ocurrs when the player inputs the B button as soon as Mario makes contact with the ground, causing him to forcibly snap backwards. It IS possible to downwarp using this throw.
The reason only the Snap-Back throw works is due to a flaw in the games code that checks if theres a floor beneath Mario after throwing an object, and snaps him to it no matter how far away it is. This can result in some unindended maneuvers when performed in certain locations.
This glitch can be performed with any holdable objects, those being fruits, barrels, and Princess Peach... if Mario could grab her from Shadow Mario because shes technically holdable.

Similar to the Mystery Banana- the newly discovered Mystery Coconut is situated in a strange location in Pinna Beach.
I have a few theories as to why its there:
1. The fruits on Pinna Beach werent originally buried in the sand, but rather scattered around the map, leaving this single coconut, and the Mystery Bananas as misplaced fruits from that stage of development.
2. Maybe Pinna Beach had an earlier design where the coconut is sitting in its correct spot for that early map, but forgot to be removed when the map changed to its final version.

This is a small glitch that causes Mario to clip underneath a layer of floor boards in the Gelato Beach fruit hut. Theres an explanation of how this glitch works at the end of the video. Enjoy!")

I MADE AN ERROR IN THE VIDEO!
I counted a total of 13x A presses in this video, skipping A press 6, when I was suppose to count 14x A presses! Im sorry for any confusion and I hope this doesnt happen again! :(
There are a couple of methods of accessing this cannon only using 1x A press, but I was unable to preform any of them.
The main method were investigating is Scuttlebug manipulation. If done correctly, we could manipulate the Scuttlebugs in this course to stand on the smallest rock beside the cannon tower, then dive-recover hop on them in order to reach the tallest rock, frame-walk up the tall rock, then use 1x A press to launch off the tallest rock and onto the cannon tower. (Saves 4x A presses).
Unfortunately, I was unable to pull this technique off as I was unable to climb the rock for some odd reason. Maybe I was using a different version of the hack which contained different collision for the rocks. Im not quite sure...
If I or anyone else is able to pull of any of the known techniques, this could save us 4x A presses, leaving us with a total of only 10x A presses to obtain the Aim the Turret star.
