I complete the level Bowser in the Sky using 6 A presses. The A presses are as follows:
A press #1: to jump up the first platform at the beginning
A press #2: to jump up the second platform at the beginning
A press #3: to jump up the third platform at the beginning
A press #4: to jump from the rotating elevator to the platform with chuckya on it
A press #5: to jump off the pole near the goombas
A press #6: to jump into the warp pipe

Since then, I figured out that you can use a goomba to bounce across the gap in the back-and-forth bridge. This requires Mario to dive towards the goomba, land for a single frame (so as to be in an upright position, but only one frame so as to not lose speed), and then bounce on the goomba (that had just fallen off the platform). This bounce must also occur somewhat deep on the bridge so that the other side of the bridge comes closer during Mario's air time.

I collect the star Roll into the Cage in Tick Tock Clock using 1 A press. The A press is to jump to the platform next to the cogs with the bob-omb.
This video is an improvement from my previous video in which I collected this star in 2 A presses. You can find that video here: http://youtu.be/EIhHYG5JCgI. Since then, I figured out that I could use the bloated bob-omb glitch further to get onto the rail from the cage, and from there use it to clip back into the cage with a greater height, thereby collecting the star.
Maneuvering onto the rail was EXTREMELY difficult. Even in a controlled environment, this maneuver was very hard to execute, as it requires grabbing the bloated bob-omb on its fourth frame (when it is largest), landing on the ground to cancel out all vertical speed, and a very precise angle (~32000). But since I knew the position and angle I wanted Mario to get to, it was a matter of reverse engineering his path. In then end, I realized I needed to go to the right side of the cage first, and then back to the left side. This was crucial for clipping through the cage with the bob-omb. You see, having the bob-omb actually adjacent the left wall clips Mario through too early, not allowing him to grab the bob-omb to take with him. And having the bob-omb not close enough to the wall doesnt allow Mario to clip through at all. Only a very precise distance allows Mario to clip through while holding the bob-omb, and I took extensive measurements of my inputs in order to achieve this: http://imgur.com/QCOCl6s.

I get the star Elevator Tour in the Volcano in Lethal Lava Land using 1 A press. The A press is to long jump from the Hot-Foot-It into the Volcano star platform to the Elevator Tour in the Volcano star platform. This video is TAS.
This video is an improvement from my previous video in which I collected this star in 2 A presses. You can find that video here: http://youtu.be/c5phm2TTW-4. Since then, Tyler and Plush developed an improved route. You see, the underlying problem is that each lava boost consumes 3 HP, and so we are very limited in how many lava boosts we can use before dying. With a sufficient number of lava boosts, we can reach the star platform, but the question is how to ration our HP to use these lava boosts most effectively.
Tyler had discovered that we could clip out of bounds slightly using the bully, thereby allowing Mario to clear a ledge that was otherwise unpassable [http://youtu.be/rR9LgIA4elA]. This would have allowed a direct path from the spinning heart to the lava fall, and so we could have approached the lava fall with full HP. From there, we could use a maneuver that Tyler worked out, in which we ZB into the lava fall to get onto the highest pole platform, then ZB back down to bounce into the lava fall (collecting 2 coins as we bounce), and use 2 lava boosts to get to the star platform [http://youtu.be/bmZoNVR8svU]. However, we soon realized Tyler overlooked a different gap in the platforms, which turned out to be 1 unit higher than would work, and so the path from the heart to the lava fall was once again unusable. Luckily, Plush then amended Tylers strategy, by running through the heart and quickly taking the lava fall back up [http://youtu.be/lZrLcqjef4M]. With the delayed effect of the heart and the 3 coins unneeded for Tylers strategy, this completed the route successfully, with 1 HP to spare.

I collect the star Through the Jet Stream using 0.5 A presses, without making use of the metal cap. For the record, I obtained a reference to the 106th object slot by swimming around in different directions (hence, why I didnt swim directly towards the rings). This is the slot that the star loads into, with a leniency of a couple slots (due to the constant loading/unloading of bubbles).
Previously, I had collected this star using 0.5 A presses using the metal cap, the video of which can be found here: http://youtu.be/tS_epm4YpSg. However, it was beneficial to show that this star could be collected without using the metal cap, because activating the metal cap switch requires an A press to go to the Hazy Maze Cave room. Thus, showing that this star doesnt require the metal cap eliminates the dependency of this star on that A press. Its quite possible that the Any% ABC Run might one day no longer make use of Hazy Maze Cave, and so this would be necessary to show in order to maintain this star at 0.5 A presses.
If youre wondering about the half A press, read this before commenting to ask why. I use a special notation that allows for half A presses. Specifically, if you enter a level already holding the A button, then that A press only counts as half. Its actually pretty important to distinguish between the A button being PRESSED and the A button being HELD. While pressing A allows Mario to execute several kinds of jumps, the holding of A allows Mario to swim in water, do little kicks up slopes, grab the owl, and twirl slowly. So if a star requires the A button to be held, the pressing of the A button could have been done at some point in the past, and just held until that moment. For instance, lets say there are two stars: one that requires the A button to be pressed (x1 A presses), and another that only requires the A button to be held (0.5 A presses). Individually, these stars would both require a full A press. But if these stars were collected one after the other, then the A button could be pressed during the former, and held all the way through to the next star to be used in the latter. In this manner, these stars together would only use 1 A press, whereas they would take 2 A presses if done individually. So during a 120 star run, you would round these half A presses down, but on a star-by-star basis you would round them up.

I collect the star Watch for Rolling Rocks in Hazy Maze Cave using 0.5 A presses. The A press is to perform AB kicks on the rising elevators. Without doing these kicks, Mario would go through the elevator, and so thered be no way to navigate out of the lake area with QPU speed. For the record, this is TAS.

Here is a play by play of what I do. First, I use scuttlebug transportation to move a scuttlebug to the corner of the Watch for Rolling Rocks platform. Then, I use scuttlebug raising to raise him to about the height of the platform. Next, I use hyper speed walking to generate massive speed. Finally, I use PU movement to navigate to the top of the course, launch to the scuttlebug to bounce on him, and ground pound in the misalignment of the platform to get onto it. And from there, I collect the star.
