Relive the spy-fi synth soundtrack and punchy audio design of Data East's 1989 arcade side-scrolling action game Sly Spy (also known as Sly Spy: Secret Agent / Secret Agent)!
Heavily inspired by the James Bond film franchise, Sly Spy cast players as a secret agent tasked with stopping the rogue terrorist organization CIB (Council for International Booty) and saving the US President. The gameplay blended gunplay, unarmed combat, diving sequences, and high-speed motorcycle chases.
The heroic, brassy spy-thriller score was composed by Data East's legendary audio team Sound Marx (Azusa Hara and Hiroaki Yoshida). Driven by Data East's custom arcade hardware powered by the Yamaha YM2203 FM synthesis chip, the soundtrack delivered driving synth basslines and energetic lead melodies that captured the peak late-80s action movie vibe.
