The snow was melting when I headed out with the pup for some more bow drill practice. I have had good results using cedar withies (branches) for bow drill cordage in the past, and wanted to try a variation on that using small saplings.
Rather than braid them, I was hoping that I could use them individually, which led to quite a bit of frustration and the sun went down as I was struggling to produce an ember.
I made several mistakes and poor choices, but it's only a failed attempt if you give up!
Questions, comments, and suggestions are always welcome.
