When I was in elementary school in the 1960s, the days the school served Sloppy Joes 4 lunch were the most popular lunch days!! So popular that some kids had 2 spit in their sandwich 2 discourage the 'thug' kids from taking their lunch!! Really, I wouldn't kid about something like that!! I never had to spit in my food (as I had equal respect amongst the thugs and the nerds), but some kids on the brink of getting their lunch taken would say "I spat in it already", and they'd get left alone (or shaken down for remaining cash only)?? Hard 2 tell spit in a Sloppy Joe, cause it was 'sloppy'...
