Meet Slinky the Ackey Monitor!
This week on Kids Corner, we come face-to-face with one of the newest (and most popular!) reptilian residents at the Wonders Center in Science Museum — Slinky the ackey monitor lizard!
Slinky is a spiny-tailed monitor from the dry regions of Northern Australia, including the Northern Territory and Queensland. Though he’s one of the smaller monitor lizards, he can grow to over two feet long and live up to 15 years. Curious, intelligent, and active during the day, Slinky loves interacting with museum guests and showing off his dinosaur-like moves.
