Several examples of the slide whistle are shown with advice on how to build one for yourself. Several design variations that are shown, these can be made out of PVC pipe, bamboo, scrap wood, even a carrot. While the materials and designs may vary, ultimately they all behave the same way. Part two will examine the physics of the slide whistle and the behavior of sound associated with open versus closed tubes.
