I first want to thank everyone at the Mario Superstar Baseball Club for the event coordination and software backend support for making the SLICE and SLICE Open tournaments possible - and to Gotta Gacha Arcade for the excellent venue. It was an honor to be chosen as the hosting channel for the bulk of SLICE Open gameplay.
Logistics were tricky with dozens of people playing hundreds of baseball and golf games in such a short time.
This final presentation was on the jumbotron after all the requisite baseball had concluded for the day. We were already pushing over 12 hours at the venue at this point - and here we milk out the patrons for everything we have.
After a harrowing climb out of Losers Bracket, I find myself back for revenge against elijahblue at Bowser Badlands. Having already been eliminated once, I needed to win twice to upset the tournament for #1. I did manage to reset the bracket after recovering from hole 11 with a chip-in on 12, and stole another two holes. Having played yet again, we maintain tight standings, though the clown car once again had its laugh. I gave one last hail mary to salvage sudden death but could not.
Elijah wins the final game after the bracket reset for the #1 position; myself at #2, and Nick at #3.
In this field, I'd say a 5-2 run is damn good. Elijah ended 4-1; Nick ended 2-2.
