Winter is just around the corner, and out here off-grid, staying warm and self-sufficient takes real work—but the rewards make every bit of effort worthwhile. In today’s video, I’m tackling essential winter preparations around the homestead. Firewood is essential so the workshop will stay warm during our coastal storms, but the work doesn't stop there - mowing grass into rich compost for future garden beds and food security.
After a long stretch of hard physical labor, it’s time to unplug. Getting in the boat and cruising out to a secluded island beach, with good friends to shuck and cook fresh coastal oysters into delicious burgers.
Off-grid living is all about balance—putting in the grit when the season demands it, and taking the time to celebrate the wild, beautiful place we call home. Thanks so much for watching and being part of this off-grid journey! 🌊🌲
