Today we try the Bussalp to Grindelwald sled run, one of the most famous sledging routes in Switzerland.
After travelling from the UK early in the morning, we arrive in Grindelwald and take the Grindelwald Bus up the mountain to Bussalp (1,800m). Before hitting the sledging trail we stop at the mountain restaurant for a traditional Swiss cheese fondue.
With sledges rented, we start our descent down the mountain⦠but due to warm weather earlier in the week, the snow conditions aren't great. Instead of sledging all the way back to Grindelwald, we end up walking a lot of the lower slopes while carrying our sledges.
Even with the tricky conditions, the views of the Swiss Alps around Grindelwald are incredible and we still manage to enjoy some fun sledging along the way.
If you're planning a winter trip to Grindelwald, this video shows what the Bussalp sled run is really like, how to get there, and what happens when the snow conditions aren't perfect.
