Sir Owen Barnstormer has rebuilt his Ultrablimp after MAD destroyed the first one, making it bigger, better, and more expensive! He’s even invented a cold fusion reactor to power it, the first of its kind, which he shows off to the Gadget gang on their tour of the blimp. Dr. Claw wants the reactor to create the world’s most powerful laser…so he can carve MADcat’s face in the moon. He sends Talon to steal the reactor, and Talon has the perfect disguise: he’s going to be a sky pirate! He and his band of pirate henchman board the blimp from their own Skyrate ship. Gadget, mistaking the invaders for actors in a play, jumps into the “performance” himself. Meanwhile, Penny finds herself in a swashbuckling swordfight with Talon over the reactor. Talon pulls out his gum gun and escorts Penny to the top of the blimp, where Gadget has been captured too. Talon makes the Gadget gang walk the plank, but they walk straight onto Talon’s Skyrate ship, taking it for themselves. Talon bolts back to the reactor and removes it…forgetting that it powers the blimp. As the blimp starts to fall out of the sky, Penny tackles Talon mid-escape, forcing him to let go of the reactor. It falls right into Gadget’s hands. The reactor super-powers Gadget’s gadgets, allowing him to use his chopper to control the blimp’s descent, returning the blimp and its passengers unscathed.
