Canottieri Milano, founded in 1890, is the best-known sports association in the city.
This is where sport is really played. There are both professional and amateur athletes, as well as people who long since hung up their trainers yet who continue to support the club. There are also two teams of athletes who canoe and play water polo on a competition level. They are made up of girls who have decided to get to grips with two hard, tiring sports, in which joy may be granted only at the end of an exhausting struggle, well-summed up by the Canottieri's timeless motto: "Volenti Nil Difficile", nothing is difficult if you want it.
