Winter hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park! We were in search of the ultimate Colorado winter hike and boy did Sky Pond deliver. We only had one day for a winter hike in Rocky Mountain, so we opted for one of the park's most popular and beloved trails - Glacier Gorge to Sky Pond and Loch Vale. With frozen waterfalls (Alberta Falls and Timberline Falls), gorgeous icy lakes like the Lake of Glass and the Loch, falling snow and extreme bitter chill winds, this made for one epic day out on the Colorado hiking trails!
If you plan to attempt this Sky Pond hike in winter, make sure to check trail conditions before hand and bring plenty of winter hiking gear. The winds this time of year can be ROUGH and the trail can be very icy in spots. But wow is it pretty!
