Falling on the red "floaty things" messes up the game. It lets you walk on air, and if you press A, you rapidly float upwards. This can be abused to reach the top of the level very quickly.
Secondly, it's possible to do a precise jump from the mouth of the ape statue to reach the other half of the level and hit the other banana.
This saves a lot of time in All Levels.
