Skijoring is an exciting event and celebration of Banff National Park's history and mountain culture.
Skijoring began in China hundreds of years ago and became more closely associated as a winter sport in Scandinavian countries in the early 1900s. The sport made its way to North America and eventually to Banff as a part of the early days of the Banff Winter Carnival, now known as SnowDays.
While skijoring won't be returning, SnowDays continues to bring winter to life across Banff and Lake Louise. From snow sculptures and outdoor events, to exciting ice carving competitions. SnowDays captures the spirit of the season and offers plenty of reason to plan a winter getaway to Banff National Park.
