The Eternum-casting Graver enemies of South Ocean, combined with the long trip without rest, make crossing South Ocean quite difficult. Here's some advice for before starting the journey, and how to deal with them…
Before Crossing:
The main things to acquire before entering South Ocean are the spells Riselem, Slipara, and one Silvite Ring Accessory, which negates Eternum. The Silvite Ring is dropped by the Azbeth bird-like enemies that inhabit the Nasr Kingdom airspace, encountered whilst traveling around Nasr in a ship. Fight and defeat as many of these enemies as possible and one will eventually drop, possibly during the normal course of the game. Equip the Silvite Ring on the character that knows Riselem, probably Fina, who learns magic the fastest. This way, the Riselem-knowing character can never be downed by Eternum, and can resurrect other characters downed by Eternum. Additionally, the Rokwyrm boss, the lava boss fought earlier at the end of the Temple of Pyrynn, drops a Riselem Box; this can be useful in emergencies, such as if the Riselem-knowing character goes down.
Regarding what types of Armor to equip, favor Defense boosting armor rather than Magic Defense boosting armor or Agile-type armor; aside Eternum the enemies of South Ocean know no offensive magic, so Magic Defense is not important. The South Ocean enemies also have fairly high Hit%, so Dodge%-boosting Agile-type armor has limited effect.
When fighting Gravers, the main aim will be to down them in one hit, or one turn. It will likely be necessary to equip the high Attack characters Vyse and Drachma with strong Elements in order to achieve one-hit kills against Gravers; they are Green elementals, so are weak to Red and Yellow. If Vyse and Drachma still can't both down Gravers in one hit with these Elements equipped, I'd recommend training until they can, rather than equipping Attack-boosting Accessories. The Nasr Combat Mail, only one of which is available in a chest in Maramba, boosts Attack by 5, but at the cost of lower Defense.
Regarding Accessories, equip Hit% boosting Accessories on the main attacking characters Vyse and Drachma, Drachma especially, as his weapons have low Hit%. Gravers have somewhat high Dodge%, and when going for quick one-hit kills to thin out their numbers before they can do much damage, Misses are something to avoid. The Crylhound's Claw Accessory, which will at this point be available from the weapons shop at Sailors' Island, boosts Hit% by 20%. In the video I've favored equipping the Black Map for Vyse, to get extra Experience and Gold from the Loopers that appear.
Aika's Storm Wing weapon has an unusually high Hit% of 150%; it is dropped in the Temple of Pyrynn by the Death / Death's Head zombie enemies, often appearing in the large water room near the start. Drachma's Beak Hand weapon has the potential to induce the Confuse Status Effect, which at this point will be available from the Sailors' Island weapons shop. This will likely have the effect of the Graver affected repeatedly attacking Drachma, and not other weaker characters, and will also stop it from using Eternum. Confuse will remain in effect until the Graver is attacked.
The Ivy Band Accessory resists Green attacks, and will chop off some of the damage dealt by the Gravers' attacks. Useful for any remaining non-attacking and non-Riselem characters, which will probably just be Aika. It is occasionally dropped in the Valuan Catacombs by the Dralnog slime enemies, encountered at the start and end.
Fighting Gravers:
One easy but long technique for dealing with Gravers is to simply use Aika's Delta Shield on every turn, blocking any Eternum magic, though this can make the journey take quite a while, also draining the characters of health and MP.
Gravers are extremely vulnerable to all adverse Status Effects, except Instant Death. In particular, this includes Sleep, which can be induced by the Blue magic Slipara. When they appear in large numbers this can prove quite effective. Sleep, like Confuse, will remain in effect until the Graver is attacked. It may also wear off on its own, but this doesn't happen often.
The non-attacking characters Aika and Fina can concentrate on attacking with magic. If the less-expensive Purple magic is powerful enough to down a Graver in one hit then use that, otherwise use Yellow magic, which will do more damage against Gravers. Red magic does less damage than Purple against Gravers, though is guaranteed to hit all. Don't bother with Blue magic; Yellow magic is always more effective against Gravers than comparable Blue magic.
Gravers often guard, and attacking with Aika to clean up any that have guarded on the previous turn can be effective, focusing the main attacking characters on full-health Gravers.
If Aika has the Storm Wing, it may be possible to have her and Fina attack a Graver to down it in one turn, as the Storm Wing has a fair chance of inducing Weakened, which may be enough to allow Fina to finish it off.
