Ski jumping or ski flying is all about the flight. Many physics student's try to plug the ski jump into a simple math problem. While that might work in a world without wind, the art and skill in ski jumping is much more than that! It takes skill to fly with the wind. Here, I took a trip to a wind tunnel just so that you could see how much variation in your position there could be when the wind is involved.
This is the final video in our Olympic Playlist. To see it from the beginning go here: youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5BRja99NkXnXYT2PhRR1jEiDylVG0ULf
Special thanks to Derek Perkowski for his wind tunnel animation!
