On February 28, six planets will appear in the sky at the same time in a rare planetary alignment.

Mercury, Venus, Neptune, Saturn, Uranus, and Jupiter will all be visible along the ecliptic shortly after sunset. While multi-planet groupings happen periodically, seeing this many planets share the sky at once is uncommon and worth looking up for.

Some of the planets will be bright and easy to see, while others may require binoculars or darker skies.

If you have clear weather, look toward the western horizon just after sunset.

Moments like this don’t happen often.
