Looking for tips on broken chords and arpeggios for use in the left hand? In this tutorial we’re going to take a look at some of these very common piano techniques, along with a couple of other things you can use to create more interesting left hand and bass parts. If you’re a relative beginner there are a couple of pretty easy ones to work on, but there’s also some more advanced stuff if you’re as more technically capable pianist.

By the way, the chord progression I use throughout is very simple: F | C | Dm7 | Bb | F | C | Bb | Bb — you can loop it over and over. Remember to keep an eye out for the slight changes in chord voicing I start to use as the broken chord patterns become more complex.
