If you are itching to 3D print but are lacking a suitable project, this video is for you. Here are six hand picked projects that you manufacture yourself to your specification. They range from simple to advanced, and free to paid. Each of them have some issues to overcome but provide a worthwhile result.
Hopefully I have pointed out some pitfalls and solutions to give you the best chance of success. I also hope the paid models have revisions to address the problems I identified.

![Bambu Lab X1 transparent test - Finally the 3D printer customers want?
Finally, a 3D printer that is truly innovative. The Bambu Labs X1 (Carbon) has been in development for years with the aim of being a game changer. It features sensors not seen on a 3D printer before with the aim of automating calibration and some parts of the printing process. Is this the innovation the community has been craving?
Based on my experience, I’d say this printer is at least 90% there. Bambu Labs aims to have the final features in place and the bugs ironed out by shipping time, as well as documentation and support. If you consider backing, please remember that Kickstarter has no guarantees and there is always inherent risk.
This printer was provided free of charge for the purposing of testing, after Bambu Labs agreed to my review policy. All opinions expressed are my own.

![Parts that fit odd shaped objects - 3D design for 3D printing pt4
To get the best out of 3D printing, it helps if you can design your own parts. In this tutorial series, we will learn to use a free 3D CAD program to do just that.
In this episode, we model a printed part that must match an obscure object perfectly. To achieve this, we use a combination of measurements and a reference photo to generate accurate geometry. We also examine why small print undersized with three potential fixes, and learn how to split parts into two.

![Reducing waste from Bambu Lab AMS (lite) prints
Check out my 2nd channel, TT Racing: https://www.youtube.com/@ttracingYT
Bambu Lab 3d printers produce really clean multi-material results. However, due to a filament cutting system that prioritises reliability, there can be an excessive amount of filament and time wasted. In this video, I explore some options for clawing some efficiency back. The gains aren’t huge, but are still worthwhile.
Thanks to my patron David who inspired this video during a great discussion.

![Making an unavailable, proprietary USB cable with 3D printing
I bought a state of the art VBOX system (well at least it was ten years ago), but it was missing a critical USB cable needed for convenient setup. The entire thing was out of production and the only thing matching the part number was expensive and looked different. Therefore, the only solution was to try and make my own. This video contains the whole process from start to finish. It’s not perfect but it is viable, plus I have the satisfaction of DIY.
