Step inside the strange and symbolic world of Sister Josephine’s Alleg-Oracle, a 54 card limited edition oracle deck published by Deviant Moon Inc.
Presented as the “Second Discovery” from Sister Josephine’s mysterious hoard, this unusual deck blends medieval illumination, antique emblem books and fantastical bestiaries with Patrick Valenza’s unmistakably eccentric imagination. Its brightly coloured cards are populated by winged figures, hybrid creatures, virtues, vices, wonders and warnings; all rendered in a deliberately flat, archaic and slightly uncanny style.
There are no numbers, suits or conventional oracle keywords. Instead, every card presents an enigmatic allegory whose meaning must be uncovered through observation, intuition and imagination. Is that curious figure offering a blessing, presenting a temptation or delivering a warning? With this deck, nothing is quite as innocent as it first appears.
