He and his wife Dianne have been collecting since they were first engaged, and with names like Rita Angus and Grahame Sydney it's clear the past 50 years have not been the life of a struggling playwright.
'Glide Time' opened at Wellington's fledgling Circa Theatre on 11 August 1976, with 'Middle-Age Spread' a year later.
"A Roger Hall play meant something, and it set me up financially very well. 'Middle-Age Spread' went to Australia then London where it spent 15 months in the West End. It was a nice little cash sum at the end," said Sir Roger.
