A strong series of thunderstorms passed through central and eastern South Dakota then continued into Minnesota and Iowa.
These storms produced large hail, strong winds, heavy rain, and even tornados. In this video from my house on the east side of Sioux Falls we had big wind, heavy rain, and loud thunder. Luckily there was no hail or tornados. As the storms quickly passed through we were awed by the vivid purple in the clouds and the bright smashes of lightning. That's right 'smashes' of lighting. That's just the effect they produced. It was simple a display of the awesome power of nature.
