A dad in Thailand stole the spotlight on Mother’s Day by dressing up like a mom.
Prachya Deebu, a 48-year-old single dad, joined the school’s Mother’s Day event donning a wig and dress for his 14-year-old adopted daughter at Bannerngroy School in Thailand on August 11. He shared a video on TikTok that captured his daughter hugging him during the school event, and also uploaded their photo on his Facebook account with the caption “On Mother’s Day, mom’s here.”
Users on both Facebook and TikTok expressed their admiration in the comments, remarking how heartwarming his gesture is, praising his fatherhood, and how adorable they look together.
“In Thailand, we have a tradition to honor mothers on Mother’s Day,” he told VICE. “My daughter doesn’t have her biological mother around, so I dressed up like a mother to remind her of her mother.”
