Louis Vuitton has never put its name next to another brand in 172 years — until now. On August 12 at Monterey Car Week, Singer Vehicle Design and Louis Vuitton reveal two one-of-a-kind Porsche 911s to the world for the very first time, and Jason Stein sits down with the two men at the center of it: Singer CEO Maz Fawaz and founder/designer Rob Dickinson.

What began as a single request — a dashboard clock — grew into a full reimagining of the car, with an instrument cluster that took a year to design and a second vehicle no one originally planned for. Rob and Maz open up about the leap of trust behind a first-of-its-kind collaboration, why Singer behaves "more like a luxury goods company than a car company," the fear of putting their name beside a creative powerhouse, and how designer Octave Chaney helped bridge Singer's studio with Jean Arnault's watchmaking team in Paris.

It's a candid, funny, and reflective conversation about craft, obsession, Goodwood, and staying humble in the middle of the biggest year in Singer's history.
