On October 20, 2020, NASA's OSIRIS-REx spacecraft made history by collecting NASA's first sample from an asteroid. The entire sampling event at asteroid Bennu took almost six hours from orbit departure, through touchdown on the surface, to the spacecraft's back-away maneuver.
