Among the top 20 largest wildfires in California since the 1930s, more than 50% happened in the last 4.5 years. Expanding throughout the world, wildfire study has become evermore important in recent years - especially to understand the wildfire propagation process.
In this episode of Meet A Google Researcher, @drewcalcagno sits down with Vivian Yang and John Anderson - Google Researchers who are interested in helping mitigate the effects of these wildfires by predicting fire behavior using AI & simulations. In this interview, we ask them about the importance of their work, challenges when creating these simulations, the benefits of these simulations, and more.
