I don't get why those comps are this ridiculously point unfriendly. I had to spent more than 15h in total on this set and while I thought the retro comp was pretty good, I really did not have much fun with this.
Also not all hacks work on luna pj64 for some reason. For one if you open dragster 64 you get the game can't be identified message. I did the thing anyway and got an 11.9 first try with a major mistake, which beats the required time by a full second. That thing is completely free, but gives 50 poitns for whatever reason. There are 1 point achievements harder than that.
Well... at least if the game would work on luna. I had to use retroarch for that and holy fuck that emu is for n64 games so incredbily horseshit I have no words. I had to spend 10 minutes to even get a 12.96 on that emu, but the real problems started when doing that hazy mazy hack.
It's an ocarina of time hack and since I never played OOT I obviously would take a while to figure stuff out. However it can be beaten in less than 5 min and I had to spend over 3h on it and like 2h of it were because of the emu being just shit.
Setting up the controls is utter misery. You have to set up the general keybinds and then open a game to set up the controls for that specific game. There is list with a ton of random words and idk what names like L2 Button (Trigger), Left Analog X+ (Right) or Gun Aux C are supposed to tell me. And after you added random buttons you have to go ingame and basically do the same thing again, except here you can't add buttons, so if you didn't add the right keys in the first step it's gg.
For anyone who doesn't know, this is how lunas input settings look like gyazo.com/5674fdf3d15e52566d5fcaaf823183cc
Super simple, you just select the button and press the key what you want to bind it to and I don't get why retroarch makes it this utterly miserable.
And now for the even more fun part. Retroarch did not save the key binds for whatever reason, so every time I closed the emu I had to do that entire setting up part again. The game crashed multiple times, so I had to go through that guess the button game over and over again.
The graphic plugin isn't functional in the slightest either. To get out of the toxic maze you have to shoot your arrow up. It's supposed to be transparent, but for some reason I could not see through it at all, so it's just a complete blind arrow shot and since it's toxic gas you can't even take your time.
You have no slow walking button in retroarch either and I hoped that wouldn't be too big of an issue for a casual game, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The arrow shots are kinda precise, which makes some stuff close to impossible, since a single keyboard tab is way too much.
I spend literally 30 min on a single arrow shot, which was worth 1 point. I even tried setting up a controller, but that didn't work either. I already thought it's straight up impossible, when I eventually finally got it.
