Just wanted to document an idea that I had for making a practice lock, in case it's useful to others. It took all of 20 minutes to produce, so it's simpler (and a LOT cheaper) than other methods. It also doesn't unnecessarily compress the springs like DIY designs that thread the cylinders and insert a set screw. Finally, it's kind of nice that you can see the springs I guess - maybe it's possible to see the color of the pin under it, but probably not. in any case, it's easier to access the cylinders for repinning than designs that require a wrench and set screws.
