Inspired by "The Band Concert"
Silly Symphony Swings is inspired by the classic Mickey Mouse cartoon short, "The Band Concert." Released in 1935, the short begins with Mickey conducting an outdoor concert. Always looking to be the center of attention, Donald Duck crashes the stage and attempts to change the tune.
Suddenly, everything goes haywire when a tornado strikes. Despite being swept up in the air, Mickey keeps conducting and the orchestra continues to play. Fortunately, everyone comes down for a safe—and comical—landing.
The telescoping ride canopy features murals with images from “The Band Concert.” When the ride is loading, you can only see the more placid images, but when the ride is in action and the canopy extends upwards, it reveals turbulent images of the tornado lifting the band members into the air!
