Silhouette Windows Necklace | Beading Tutorial
Create a bold, elegant statement necklace with me in this tutorial for the Silhouette Windows Necklace! This design features dramatic open “window” shapes surrounded by sparkling crystal embellishments for a finished piece that really catches the eye.
This is an advanced/intermediate beading project, and you will need to already know how to work Cubic Right Angle Weave (CRAW). The companion pattern provides the structure and diagrams for the project, but it does not teach CRAW step-by-step.
Materials Used:
• 3 SS47 Preciosa Chatons
• 20g 11/0 Toho Seed Beads
• 3g 15/0 Seed Beads
• 22 – 3.2mm (SS12) Montee Beads
• 2 – 3mm Bicones
• 8lb FireLine or WildFire
• Size 11 Beading Needle
Important: I specifically recommend Toho 11/0 seed beads for this project. Miyuki beads can work for the CRAW sections, but they are not recommended for the crystal encasements because the fit will be different.
During the tutorial, we’ll create the CRAW window structure, add 15/0 embellishments, decorate the necklace with Montee crystals, bezel the SS47 chatons, and assemble everything into the finished necklace.
One of the fun things about this design is how much the look can change depending on your colors. The original pattern includes several beautiful color combinations, including blue, brown, gray/pink, and green.
