The Highest Ancient Beech Woodland in Britain. Yes, that is what on offer should you choose to visit. As I sat at my desk the fog started to roll in mid morning. I packed the gear and headed to Silent Valley. As is often the case with this location the bottom of the valley was clear. I could see the fog was hanging around the top woodland with my fave beech trees so it was a case of climbing up through the reserve to get some atmosphere. The trip was not without be having one of my "Frank" moments...lol
