With the new upcoming Silent Hill: Townfall releasing in a few months, I thought to give this free-to-play experience a go for those who are in preparation for the new installment.
The narrative follows a teenage girl named Anita Planert, who explores a dark abandoned apartment on the lookout for information and clues related to her past and Maya Hindenburg (A graffiti artist) who committed suicide, not to mention Anita receives haunting text messages from her frequently. Amelie constantly keeps in check with Anita to see if she's doing alright, all the while a monster covered in cherry blossoms is on the chase after her. It also tackles other themes like mental health to social media.
It's only a short game, hence it's subtitle name for this installment as a way to not only get players back into the franchise but also introduce newcomers who are taking interest in the series for the first time too. We were supposed to get a another short entry known as Silent Hills but ended up being canned due to Kojima completing his work on MGSV: The Phantom Pain as well as him leaving Konami altogether through a broken relationship.
