Since I left Russia I've reacted to a lot of different Russian propaganda music: from SHAMAN to other countless Z artists. However, today we might have a complete opposite case - I'm actually going to be defending a Russian song from propaganda accusations. Recently online a new Russian TikTok song has gone viral - SIGMA BOY by Betsy & Мария Янковская. It's become a new anthem for sigma male edits on YouTube shorts & TikTok, but is there any deeper message hidden inside? Well, one member of the European Parliament from Germany does think so. According to her, SIGMA BOY is a RUSSIAN PROPAGANDA song made to promote pro-Russian and patriarchal talking points within the West and Ukraine. As a Russian who reacts to Russian propaganda all the time, I really don't think it's that deep. So, is Sigma Boy actually a Russian PSYOP created to infiltrate the West? Let's talk about it.
