Bishop McDevitt’s season debut on Saturday showcased their powerful offense, even with a fresh lineup.

Quarterback Stone Saunders threw for 290 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Crusaders to a decisive 45-15 victory over Mount St. Joseph at the York Rose Bowl, held at Smalls Athletic Complex.

Dominic Diaz had an outstanding performance, hauling in seven receptions for 179 yards and two touchdowns. Despite quarterback Ben Raines occasionally advancing the Gaels’ offense, Mount St. Joseph couldn’t keep up with the Crusaders’ relentless pace.

On defense, Lucas Lawler and Chris Thompson led a ferocious McDevitt front that recorded seven sacks, further solidifying the team’s dominant showing in their season opener.
