Soul Ex Machina returns with the third chapter of its SEMPLATE series, this time bringing Sibla into the fold for a three-track journey through deep bass, stripped-back dubstep and jazz-informed experimentation.
At the centre of the EP sits “The Seekers” — a slow-burning opener built around rolling drums, weighty sub frequencies and a hazy, nocturnal sense of space. Nothing is rushed; elements drift in and out with purpose, allowing the groove, harmony and low-end to breathe.
Drawing from the raw spirit of early dubstep while embracing the freedom and detail of jazz, Sibla finds a compelling space between soundsystem pressure and musical subtlety. The result is understated but heavy, spacious yet intricately composed.
