In Yakutia, in the eastern part of Siberia, extremely low temperatures prevail in winter. On the Lena River, the "deep frozen" fleet is then repaired in the largest port of Yakutsk! It is a technique used to inspect ships directly in the ice without bringing them to shore. When the temperature drops low enough, the so-called "ice cutters" cut an ice labyrinth of tunnels under the ships - using only a hoe and chainsaw.
