On Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th March there will be a couple of exciting activities happening at Alresford station.
There will be a ‘Driver for £10’ opportunity with Shunter 08288 ‘Phoenix’. This will run from 11am to 3.30pm. Tickets are available to buy on the day at the buffet at Alresford station, on a first come first served basis. This activity is for 16+ years.
Steam crane DS58 will be in light steam, with its jib raised. It will be manned so visitors can ask questions and find out more about its operation and history. This is a rare opportunity as it’s the only operational Heavy Duty Civil Engineers Steam Crane in the South of England, and one of only a handful that have survived.
