Should You Sell Your Home AS IS? When selling your home in Maryland, there is one common mistake many seller smake. This mistake could not only scare away MANY buyers and cause your home to sit on the market for months but it could ultimately cause your home to sell for tens of thousands of dollars less! As a Maryland Real Estate Agent, I see buyers making this mistake ALL THE TIME.
This mistake is selling your home AS IS rather than investing a little money into getting it ready for the market. In most cases, it does not take much to prepare your home. Many times all you need is new carpet, paint or even just a handyman. A small investment of $5,000 could cause your home to sell for $10,000, $20,000 or even $30,000 more than if you put your home up in it's current condition and refused to make any repairs.
